About this role
SpaceX seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to manage construction safety operations at the Cape Canaveral Starship spaceport facility. The role requires overseeing contractor EHS programs, conducting hazard assessments, and providing technical expertise in high-risk mechanical construction activities including crane operations, welding, and steel fabrication.
What you'll do
- Oversee day-to-day EHS site management and contractor compliance for construction projects
- Conduct hazard identification inspections and develop safety observations for facilities and equipment
- Develop job hazard assessments, PPE requirements, and health & safety policies for construction sites
- Provide technical oversight for crane, rigging, welding, and heavy equipment operations
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and spills to determine root causes and corrective actions
- Deliver safety training to construction personnel on mechanical construction hazards
