About this role

Fluidstack is seeking a Resident Structural Engineer to oversee the structural systems of a first-of-a-kind modular data center product through manufacturing production in Phoenix. You'll own frames, enclosures, and transport structures from design release through full-rate production, working directly on the factory floor to resolve fit-up, welding, and fabrication issues in real time.

What you'll do

  • Own structural systems of modular product on manufacturing line, from released drawings through rate production
  • Work on Phoenix factory floor daily, identifying and dispositioning fit-up, weld, and fabrication issues at the source
  • Respond to Request for Information (RFI) from fabrication floor same-day and engineer fixes into next revision
  • Conduct first-article reviews and fit checks on units coming down the line with tightly documented findings
  • Feed manufacturing learnings back into drawings, tolerances, and bill of materials to prevent recurring issues
  • Support production launch and iterate designs at manufacturing speed while maintaining configuration control
