Skild AI seeks a Research Robotics/Computer Vision Engineer to develop perception systems for autonomous robots, focusing on 3D vision, SLAM optimization, and visual localization. You'll work on scene reconstruction, navigation pipelines, and robotic manipulation tasks while advancing techniques for real-world robotic deployment.
What you'll do
- Implement robot perception systems for safe exploration and real-world navigation
- Develop 3D scene reconstruction from monocular images and optimize SLAM algorithms
- Create visual localization tools and life-long mapping infrastructure with pose-graph optimization
- Build visual servoing systems to track and control robot motion based on detected objects
- Research novel techniques to handle glare and challenging lighting in robotic mapping
- Collect and pipeline data for training robot manipulation tasks like pick-and-place operations
