About this role

ALSO is seeking a Battery Test Engineer to develop and execute comprehensive validation strategies for battery systems in small electric vehicles. You'll move beyond test execution to define what needs testing, design methodologies, build hardware, analyze data, and make critical engineering decisions about product safety and readiness.

What you'll do

  • Define battery validation strategy including safety testing protocols and production sign-off criteria
  • Design test methodologies covering performance, reliability, durability, thermal, and abuse scenarios across mechanical and electrical domains
  • Build, instrument, and debug prototype and test hardware hands-on
  • Own root-cause analysis and failure investigation when systems underperform
  • Design fixtures, automation tools, and test infrastructure to improve quality and repeatability
  • Analyze test data and translate findings into actionable design recommendations and risk assessments
