About this role
Notion is seeking early-career software engineers to help build core product features and experiences for their AI-powered collaborative workspace used by millions. You'll own meaningful projects end-to-end, collaborating with design and product teams to ship features, improve performance, and drive user engagement across the platform.
What you'll do
- Plan, build, and ship product features from conception through launch and iteration
- Improve performance, reliability, and quality of experiences for millions of users
- Run experiments to drive activation, retention, and collaboration metrics
- Build internal tools and platform improvements to help engineers ship faster
- Contribute to code quality, team norms, and a learning-focused culture
- Work on core product, AI/automation, growth, or infrastructure initiatives
What they're looking for
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
- Holistic problem-solving with ability to navigate ambiguity
- Customer-minded, pragmatic approach to technology decisions
- Proactive communication and high ownership/agency
- React, TypeScript, Node.js (nice to have)
- Postgres and Elasticsearch (nice to have)
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or Claude Code
- Less than two years of professional engineering experience
