About this role
Momentus seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the technical strategy and execution of in-space transportation systems development. You'll serve as the independent technical authority overseeing design, analysis, integration, and launch of space vehicles while managing technical baselines, risks, and compliance across all programs.
What you'll do
- Manage technical integrity and baseline for all Momentus space vehicle programs
- Provide independent technical assessments of requirements, design, risks, and schedules to program managers
- Identify and resolve gaps between requirements, design, manufacturing, operations, and facility solutions
- Assess and disposition technical risks across multiple programs and technology development initiatives
- Lead engineering teams through design, analysis, systems engineering, verification, and operational phases
- Review and approve technical completion at major program reviews and oversee corrective actions for failures
