Power Integrity Engineer-Silicon

San JosefulltimemidAdded 1 month ago

About this role

Lumilens seeks a senior power integrity engineer to architect robust power delivery systems for advanced 2.5D/3D photonic and AI chip packages. You'll optimize complex PDNs integrating multiple chiplets, photonic ICs, and memory while managing extreme power densities and tight voltage margins critical for next-generation AI infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement power integrity architectures for heterogeneous 2.5D/3D packages with chiplets, interposers, and multi-rail topologies
  • Conduct full-stack power analysis including IR drop, electromigration, PDN impedance, and transient response validation
  • Model and simulate power delivery solutions using tools like Ansys SIwave, Cadence Sigrity, and Apache RedHawk
  • Lead power integrity co-design with silicon, package, and photonics teams to optimize layouts and voltage regulator placement
  • Select and qualify advanced power components (VRMs, capacitors, inductors) and collaborate with foundry partners on manufacturability
  • Drive lab validation through high-bandwidth measurements and correlation to simulation for production readiness

What they're looking for

  • Power delivery network (PDN) design and optimization
  • 2.5D/3D heterogeneous packaging and chiplet integration
  • PI simulation tools (Ansys, Cadence Sigrity, Apache RedHawk)
  • IR drop and electromigration analysis
  • High-speed signal integrity and noise mitigation
  • Advanced packaging technologies (CoWoS, hybrid bonding, FOWLP)
  • Lab characterization with oscilloscopes and network analyzers
  • Cross-functional collaboration and design methodologies

Likely interview questions

  • Walk us through your experience designing power delivery networks for 2.5D/3D heterogeneous integration—what were the key challenges you faced with chiplets or interposers, and how did you optimize for noise and IR drop?
  • Describe your hands-on experience with power integrity simulation tools like Ansys SIwave, Cadence Sigrity, or Apache RedHawk. How have you validated PDN simulations against lab measurements, and what correlations issues have you debugged?
