Layup
Software Engineer (Computational Geometry)
About this role
Layup Parts seeks a Software Engineer specializing in computational geometry to develop the geometric engine for their composite manufacturing platform. You'll work with the CTO to create systems that analyze CAD models, assess manufacturability, and generate production geometry for aerospace and defense applications.
What you'll do
- Develop and optimize geometric algorithms for CAD model analysis
- Build manufacturability assessment systems for composite parts
- Create tooling and production geometry generation tools
- Design software systems that bridge digital design and physical manufacturing
- Collaborate with CTO and software team on core platform architecture
- Take ownership of geometry-related technical challenges from conception to deployment
What they're looking for
- Computational geometry
- CAD/CAM systems knowledge
- Geometric algorithm design
