About this role
Kodiak Robotics seeks a Functional Safety Engineer to develop and manage safety cases for their autonomous trucking systems. You'll apply ISO 26262 and SOTIF principles to design, verify, and validate safety-critical software for self-driving vehicles.
What you'll do
- Define technical safety requirements for autonomous vehicle operational domains
- Lead software safety requirement specifications and architectural design
- Develop test plans and verification reports for software units and integration
- Perform safety analyses including dependent failure analysis per ISO 26262
- Support hardware-software interface development and safety measures
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on compliance assessment
