About this role

Etched seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and develop high-performance data center products, from concept through production. You'll lead chassis and enclosure design for inference-focused AI hardware, collaborating with internal teams and manufacturing partners to ensure reliability and manufacturability at scale.

What you'll do

  • Develop mechanical designs for high-power data center products with focus on performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Lead data center chassis and enclosure design from concept through production, managing cooling and power requirements
  • Collaborate with internal design teams and Joint Design Manufacturers (JDMs) on integration and optimization
  • Oversee soft and hard tooling development to support mass production with strict quality standards
  • Ensure designs meet shock, vibration, and other manufacturing standards for durability
  • Apply DFM principles to optimize designs for cost-effective manufacturing and assembly
