About this role

Bot Auto seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical systems for autonomous truck platforms in Houston. You'll lead component design, prototyping, testing, and supplier collaboration while working cross-functionally to integrate hardware into autonomous vehicle architectures.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems and components such as sensor racks and equipment brackets
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to validate designs against performance and safety standards
  • Lead rapid prototyping and functional validation of mechanical designs
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and systems engineers on vehicle integration
  • Source and partner with fabrication suppliers; troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement solutions
  • Create standard operating procedures, train technicians on retrofitting, and establish quality control standards
