About this role
Astera Institute is hiring a Software Engineer to build and scale The Stacks, a content platform for sharing and discovering scientific and technical work. You'll work full-stack across backend services, frontend interfaces, and cloud infrastructure in a fast-moving startup-like environment focused on advancing knowledge-sharing tools.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain backend services, frontend interfaces, data models, and integrations for The Stacks platform
- Build user-facing interfaces and experiences using modern web technologies
- Design and implement APIs and services for content management
- Manage cloud infrastructure for high availability, observability, and smooth development workflows
- Maintain engineering practices including version control, testing, documentation, and CI/CD workflows
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to iterate on features based on feedback
