About this role
Join Apex as a Spacecraft Design Engineer to architect and develop satellite bus platforms that enable commercial access to orbit. You'll lead system-level design, requirements definition, and cross-functional integration for mass-manufactured spacecraft serving earth observation, communications, and beyond.
What you'll do
- Define and evolve satellite system architectures across multiple mission profiles
- Perform system-level trade studies optimizing performance, reliability, cost, mass, and schedule
- Allocate requirements to spacecraft subsystems and maintain interface control documents
- Manage platform-level requirements and traceability throughout the product lifecycle
- Conduct system analyses including margins, sensitivities, and failure mode assessments
- Collaborate with propulsion, avionics, power, structures, thermal, software, and manufacturing teams
