Manufacturing Facilities Engineer
About this role
Apex is seeking a Manufacturing Facilities Engineer to support the expansion of its satellite bus manufacturing operations in Los Angeles. You'll develop facility layouts, optimize manufacturing workflows, plan process utilities, and execute facility projects across engineering, clean room, and production environments to enable efficient spacecraft manufacturing at scale.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain facility layouts, floor plans, and utility plans using AutoCAD for offices, labs, warehouses, production areas, and clean rooms
- Analyze workflow and material flow to optimize manufacturing efficiency and support production growth
- Plan and coordinate process utilities including compressed gases, water systems, electrical loads, and exhaust/ventilation infrastructure
- Support equipment installations by coordinating utility hookups, facility readiness, and integration into production areas
- Lead small-to-medium facility projects from concept through implementation with scheduling and budget oversight
- Partner with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, and Facilities teams to implement facility improvements
