xAI is seeking a skilled Network Engineer specializing in ML Infrastructure to design and optimize high-speed interconnect technologies for AI clusters. This role involves hands-on work with advanced networking hardware crucial for large-scale AI training and inference systems.
What you'll do
- Design and validate high-speed connectivity solutions for AI clusters.
- Manage vendor onboarding for new products and conduct product characterization.
- Investigate new interconnect opportunities.
- Evaluate new co-packaged engines and their performance.
- Collaborate with teams to align interconnect topology with ML workload patterns.
- Perform system-level simulations and drive failure analysis in production.

- Expertise in high-speed copper and optical interconnects
- Deep knowledge of PAM4 SerDes
- Solid understanding of optical link performance metrics
- Experience with transceiver components and their characterization
- Knowledge of thermal and signal integrity constraints
