Waymo is looking for a Systems Modeling & Optimization Engineer to develop simulation tools and models for vehicle energy consumption and total cost of ownership. The role involves collaboration across teams to inform critical architecture decisions, contributing to the optimization of autonomous vehicle systems.
What you'll do
- Build simulation tools for vehicle energy consumption and TCO.
- Develop physics-based energy consumption models.
- Create a city-level fleet simulator.
- Inform vehicle/system architecture decisions using simulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on operations and roadmaps.

- 5+ years in systems modeling and data science
- Proficient in Python/Matlab or similar languages
- Strong data analytics background
- Educational background in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Physics
- Experience managing cross-functional projects
- Effective communication of technical analyses
