Vast is looking for a Systems Engineer specializing in spacecraft design and simulation to lead the development of their spacecraft simulation toolchain. This role focuses on creating a dynamic engineering environment that supports rapid design evolution and decision-making as the company prepares to scale up its satellite launches.
What you'll do
- Develop and improve the spacecraft design and simulation toolchain
- Facilitate cross-discipline design studies for rapid assessments
- Drive architectural decisions through detailed analysis
- Ensure the toolchain evolves with changing customer requirements
- Maintain the digital twin as a comprehensive engineering record
- Implement a rigorous validation suite for all models
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- 4+ years in spacecraft systems engineering
- Strong knowledge of power, thermal, and ADCS subsystems
- Exceptional analytical abilities
- Focus on rigorous validation processes
- Experience with AI-assisted development
- Generalist experience in multiple subsystems
- Skills in cross-functional collaboration
