About this role
Vast is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to support the development of its next-generation space stations, focusing on engine testing and operations. The role involves planning hazardous operations, leading test campaigns, and troubleshooting various systems to ensure safe and efficient testing processes.
What you'll do
- Act as Test Conductor and Director for engine hotfires.
- Plan and oversee hazardous operations with high pressures and cryogenic fluids.
- Drive engine development and test campaigns to completion.
- Create and manage test procedures and configuration files.
- Support Test Readiness Reviews.
- Collaborate with technicians on test stand hardware fabrication.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor’s in engineering
- 2+ years in fluid systems or hardware testing
- Experience with cryogenic fluids
- Familiarity with NX and Teamcenter
- Coding skills (Python, Matlab, etc.)
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
