About this role

Taara, part of Google's Moonshot Factory, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to create mechanical components for innovative Wireless Optical Communication terminals. The ideal candidate should thrive in dynamic environments and have experience in product design, thermal management, and 3D CAD software.

What you'll do

  • Design and model mechanical components for WOC terminals
  • Solve challenges in environmental, materials, and thermal aspects
  • Drive testing for reliability and quality of outdoor equipment
  • Collaborate with teams for integration of various technologies
  • Support manufacturing team in production ramp-up
  • Document hardware specifications and manage BOM

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Solidworks)
  • Experience with GD&T
