About this role
Starpath is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Structures) to design and develop robust structures for space missions involving lunar and Martian environments. The role focuses on the complete lifecycle of load-bearing hardware, ensuring safety and manufacturability while collaborating with various engineering teams.
What you'll do
- Design and analyze mechanical structures for flight applications
- Conduct structural analysis using FEA and hand calculations
- Create detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings
- Execute structural qualification testing and correlate data
- Collaborate with manufacturing for design efficiency
- Optimize design for reduced complexity and mass

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 1+ years of mechanical design or structural engineering experience
- Proficient in 3D CAD and GD&T
- Familiarity with FEA tools
- Experience with lightweight structures and materials selection
- Knowledge of aerospace structural standards
- Hands-on structural test experience
- Experience designing mechanisms
