About this role
SpaceX is seeking a Structures Engineer to support the production and design of hardware for the Starship project. This role involves collaborating with vehicle analysts, managing production processes, and resolving manufacturing discrepancies to enhance efficiency in building parts and assemblies.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with vehicle analysts on design and manufacturing solutions
- Develop and manage production processes for transitioning parts to high-rate manufacturing
- Coordinate testing and qualification of systems and tooling
- Implement design changes for manufacturability
- Create CAD models for components and tooling
- Lead onsite design engineering for efficient build processes
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 1+ years engineering experience in manufacturing
- 3D CAD software proficiency
- Knowledge of metallic manufacturing techniques
- Experience with DFMA
- Ability to write work instructions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing environments
