Microelectronics Process Engineer (Optical Products)

SpaceX is seeking a Microelectronics Process Engineer for Optical Products to enhance the manufacturing processes for advanced electro-optic devices integral to their satellite operations. The role involves collaboration across teams to ensure products transition smoothly from development to high-volume production.

What you'll do

• Manage new product introduction and production processes for micro-electronic assemblies
• Procure and improve manufacturing equipment with machine vendors
• Design experiments to optimize production processes
• Collaborate with design teams for manufacturability improvements
• Investigate non-conforming hardware to implement reliability improvements
• Create training materials for production technicians

What they're looking for

• Degree in engineering or related discipline
• Experience with microelectronics assembly equipment
• Knowledge of die/wire bonding and AOI processes
• Understanding of manufacturing standards (MIL-STD-883, IPC-610)
• Experience with statistical process control and design of experiments
• Proficiency in CAD and tools like SQL/Python
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments
