SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Raptor 3D printer team in Hawthorne, CA. This role focuses on developing and optimizing the printer and its production process, requiring hands-on involvement with design, training, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.
What you'll do
- Address complex problems with a focus on efficiency and promptness
- Enhance production systems for reliability and high yields
- Create training programs for technicians on laser tracking systems
- Interpret blueprints across different assembly stages using GD&T
- Communicate with various stakeholders including engineers and machinists
- Oversee the design and implementation of custom production equipment
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM
- 1+ years in mechanical project design or commissioning
- Proficient in CAD and FEA software
- Familiarity with model-based metrology software
- Data analysis and reporting capabilities
- Experience in structural analysis tools like ANSYS
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
