SpaceX is looking for an Equipment Safety Engineer to join their Environmental Health & Safety team in Bastrop, TX. The role focuses on ensuring the safety and compliance of automated machinery by applying safety standards, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with engineering teams to implement safety improvements.
What you'll do
- Interpret and apply safety standards for equipment design
- Design and implement machine guarding solutions
- Perform interlock validation testing and certification
- Develop internal safety standards and training programs
- Conduct hazard analyses and safety audits
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams on safety features
What they're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 5+ years of experience in equipment safety engineering
- Knowledge of safety standards (ANSI, ISO, OSHA)
- Experience in machine guarding system design
- Risk assessment and validation testing skills
- Proficiency in safety risk assessment tools
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities
- Excellent communication skills
