About this role
Saronic Technologies is looking for a Certified Welding Engineer to enhance their shipyard operations in Franklin, LA. This role focuses on overseeing welding processes for various marine materials while integrating new technologies to improve efficiency and support the transition to high-volume production.
What you'll do
- Develop and qualify WPS/PQRs for various welding applications
- Provide technical support for GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and SMAW processes
- Oversee the welding of marine piping systems and ensure quality standards
- Address challenges related to aluminum structures and distortion control
- Coordinate with teams to improve weld efficiency and reduce rework
- Train and mentor welders on appropriate welding techniques and standards
What they're looking for
- Certified Welding Engineer (CWE)
- Experience in aluminum shipbuilding and mixed-alloy systems
- Knowledge of GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW processes
- Understanding of NDT methods for quality assurance
- Ability to create and maintain welding documentation
- Proficient in applicable welding codes and standards
- Strong problem-solving capabilities for weld discontinuities
- Ability to train personnel on welding equipment and processes
