About this role
SpaceX is hiring a Software Engineer for their Simulation team to develop and expand a multi-physics simulation engine supporting manufacturing processes like casting, additive manufacturing, and welding. You'll integrate CFD tools, CAD platforms, and machine learning to optimize parts across SpaceX programs and improve manufacturing efficiency.
What you'll do
- Own software architecture and quality of SpaceX's simulation software platform
- Develop and optimize multi-physics simulation software integrating CFD, meshing, and CAD tools
- Build advanced interfaces for viewing and interpreting simulation results
- Apply machine learning and AI (surrogate modeling, physics-informed neural networks) to accelerate simulations
- Troubleshoot software integration, meshing quality, and simulation accuracy issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement features and automate processes
