About this role
SpaceX is hiring an RF/Analog IC Design Engineer to develop next-generation RFICs for Starlink satellite and ground systems. You'll design, simulate, and optimize mixed-signal circuits in cutting-edge processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver radio solutions for global connectivity.
What you'll do
- Design and simulate RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems for space and ground applications
- Derive subsystem and circuit specifications, and develop designs in SiGe or CMOS processes
- Collaborate with system architects and firmware engineers to partition hardware and software functions
- Perform IC floor planning, layout, and parasitic component modeling
- Evaluate and characterize prototypes, measuring full radio performance
- Support automated test equipment development and manufacturing qualification efforts

- RF integrated circuit design (2+ years required)
- Simulation tools: Spectre, ADS, HFSS, Momentum
- Linear and non-linear circuit analysis: PLLs, mixers, amplifiers, filters, oscillators
- Digital communication systems and modulation schemes (QPSK, APSK, QAM)
- RF transceiver architectures and Ku/K/Ka-band design
- Test equipment operation: spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators
- IC floor planning and layout
- Microwave frequency characterization
