About this role
SpaceX seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to support satellite manufacturing operations in Hawthorne, CA. You'll provide technical EHS expertise to manufacturing teams, conduct hazard assessments, manage incident investigations, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards across complex aerospace operations.
What you'll do
- Conduct detailed safety reviews of hazardous satellite manufacturing and testing operations with engineers and technicians
- Lead incident investigations including root cause analysis and corrective action development
- Develop and maintain compliance programs for OSHA, HAZCOM, cryogenics, confined space, fall protection, radiation, and laser safety
- Design and implement safety solutions using hierarchy of controls to mitigate EHS hazards within cost and schedule constraints
- Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards and perform facility/equipment inspections
- Develop environmental compliance audits and contingency plans for emergencies involving hazardous material releases
