Security Engineer, Detection and Response

About this role

Serval seeks an experienced Security Engineer to lead detection and response operations, building team capabilities for monitoring, incident investigation, and threat mitigation across infrastructure and customer systems. You'll drive security strategy through hands-on leadership, mentor specialized teams, and embed detection practices into product design.

What you'll do

• Design and operate detection and response operations including monitoring, triage, investigation, containment, and remediation of security events
• Build, lead, and mentor teams in observability, detection and response, and threat intelligence
• Establish operational rigor through incident playbooks, on-call procedures, tabletop exercises, and continuous improvement
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure critical telemetry availability and actionability across cloud, corporate, and production environments
• Collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Infrastructure to embed detection and response into systems by design
• Develop security programs resilient against sophisticated adversaries using Serval's AI agents
