Mechanical Design Engineer
About this role
Northwood Space seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop structures, mechanisms, and tooling for satellite ground station antennas that will be deployed globally. You'll collaborate across disciplines to design high-performance RF systems from concept through production while ensuring manufacturability and reliability.
What you'll do
- Design structures, mechanisms, and environmental systems for satellite ground stations with focus on performance and manufacturability
- Develop RF waveguide filtering and feed structures for high-performance antennas
- Create fabrication and assembly tooling, test fixtures, and weldments
- Partner with RF, electrical, and manufacturing teams to integrate designs and meet system requirements
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for mechanical, thermal, and environmental design
- Participate in design reviews and validate design objectives
