About this role

FieldAI is seeking a BIM/VDC Engineer to ensure quality and accuracy of BIM models created from point cloud data while developing automated processes to streamline workflows. This role combines technical BIM expertise with process improvement, working across reality capture, model validation, and construction documentation.

What you'll do

  • Review and validate BIM models against point cloud data, construction drawings, and site documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform quality control checks on model geometry, classification, naming conventions, and level of detail
  • Identify and document modeling issues including missing, misaligned, or incorrectly classified elements
  • Prepare detailed QA/QC reports with actionable feedback for modeling teams
  • Evaluate and support point cloud workflows including scan registration, alignment, and data gap assessment
  • Develop and implement automation scripts and rule-based validation checks to improve BIM processes

  • BIM standards, LOD requirements, and naming conventions
  • Python, Dynamo, or Revit API scripting (preferred)
  • IFC and COBie data standards (preferred)
  • Reality capture technology understanding
