About this role

A Chicago-based financial services firm seeks an IT support engineer to manage L1-L3 technical support for critical trading systems. The role focuses on monitoring production environments, resolving incidents, and automating infrastructure improvements in a fast-paced trading operation.

What you'll do

  • Monitor and alert on critical trading system environments
  • Identify and resolve production issues proactively
  • Develop automation tools and improve system efficiency through scripting
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex systems issues
  • Execute production deployments for infrastructure components
  • Provide on-call pager support on rotating schedule

  • UNIX/Linux administration and commands
  • Python and Bash scripting
  • SQL and database management (MySQL, InfluxDB)
  • Production support and incident management
  • System monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Jira ticket management (preferred)
  • Grafana/InfluxDB/Icinga experience (preferred)
