About this role
A Chicago-based financial services firm seeks an IT support engineer to manage L1-L3 technical support for critical trading systems. The role focuses on monitoring production environments, resolving incidents, and automating infrastructure improvements in a fast-paced trading operation.
What you'll do
- Monitor and alert on critical trading system environments
- Identify and resolve production issues proactively
- Develop automation tools and improve system efficiency through scripting
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex systems issues
- Execute production deployments for infrastructure components
- Provide on-call pager support on rotating schedule
What they're looking for
- UNIX/Linux administration and commands
- Python and Bash scripting
- SQL and database management (MySQL, InfluxDB)
- Production support and incident management
- System monitoring and troubleshooting
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Jira ticket management (preferred)
- Grafana/InfluxDB/Icinga experience (preferred)
