Security Engineer
About this role
Cognition is seeking a Security Engineer to design and defend the security infrastructure for Devin (an AI software engineer) and Windsurf (an AI-native IDE). You'll own sandboxing, product security, detection systems, and incident response for tools that execute untrusted code and handle sensitive customer credentials at scale.
What you'll do
- Design and harden sandboxing, isolation, and runtime controls for safe code execution in AI agents
- Lead threat modeling and secure design reviews across products and infrastructure
- Build internal security tooling for secrets management, identity, access controls, and dependency security
- Develop detection pipelines and lead incident response efforts end-to-end
- Collaborate with go-to-market and legal teams on compliance and customer trust initiatives
- Own vulnerability management and security improvements across the platform
