Frontend Engineer - Cluster OS Platform

San FranciscofulltimemidAdded 1 month ago

About this role

A well-funded Kubernetes infrastructure startup seeks a Frontend Engineer to build an intuitive OS-like interface for managing distributed clusters. You'll design visualizations and real-time UIs that make complex infrastructure accessible to both individual users and production teams, working on-site in San Francisco.

What you'll do

  • Own the cluster management UI including provisioning flows, natural language interfaces, and real-time system insights
  • Design visualization systems that make distributed state legible and actionable at a glance
  • Integrate with Kubernetes APIs, GitOps controllers, and gRPC/cRPC backends
  • Build real-time reactive UIs using Convex that scale across teams
  • Prototype new interaction patterns for infrastructure management and iterate based on feedback
  • Establish frontend architecture patterns and code quality standards as an early team member

What they're looking for

  • React, Next.js, Tailwind, shadcn/ui
  • Convex for real-time/reactive UI patterns
  • Production Kubernetes internals, operators, and cluster troubleshooting
  • Terraform and Helm for Infrastructure as Code
  • ArgoCD and GitOps declarative deployment patterns
  • Prometheus and Grafana observability
  • Go programming for system-level tooling
  • Complex state management and distributed systems

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Early-stage equity opportunity at venture-backed startup
  • High-impact role shaping product direction
  • On-site collaboration in San Francisco
