About this role

Civis is seeking an early-career Software Engineer for a 6-month contract role to develop full-stack software solutions. You'll work with React, Python/Ruby/Node, and SQL alongside engineers, designers, and product managers on meaningful client projects.

What you'll do

  • Build and ship high-quality software across the full stack
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers
  • Review, debug, and optimize code
  • Research, prototype, and recommend software solutions
  • Apply company best practices and maintain design standards
  • Maintain complete and current project documentation

  • React and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Backend frameworks (Rails, Django, or Node.js)
  • Python, Ruby, or Node.js
  • SQL databases
  • AI/ML concepts and tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
  • Problem-solving and learning agility

  • AWS or cloud deployment (preferred)
