Design Engineer
About this role
Circleback seeks a design engineer in San Francisco who bridges design and frontend development, owning features end-to-end across web, desktop, and mobile platforms. You'll elevate the product experience through meticulous attention to detail, rapid prototyping, and close collaboration with the founding team to shape what gets built.
What you'll do
- Design and implement features across React/Next.js (web), Electron/Swift (desktop), and React Native (mobile)
- Solve complex design challenges around dense conversational information and user navigation
- Build and maintain the design system with components, patterns, and design tokens
- Craft animations, interactions, and micro-interactions that enhance product feel and responsiveness
- Prototype and iterate quickly on experiments for onboarding, activation, and user education
- Collaborate with founders and engineers on product direction and strategic decisions
