About this role

Join Character.AI's monetization team to build scalable payment and subscription systems that serve billions of users. You'll design intuitive purchase experiences across mobile and web while collaborating with product, design, and data teams to optimize revenue and user delight.

What you'll do

  • Develop and optimize user-facing payment, subscription, and in-app purchase features across mobile and web platforms
  • Design and experiment with monetization surfaces including virtual currency systems, premium upsells, and advertising
  • Partner with design and product teams to create high-quality, performant purchase experiences
  • Collaborate with data science to define metrics, run A/B tests, and analyze monetization outcomes
  • Work with backend engineers to design scalable systems for payments, entitlements, and transactions
  • Establish experimentation frameworks and best practices for rapid monetization iteration

  • TypeScript, React, React Native, and modern frontend development
  • HTML and Tailwind CSS
  • Backend development with Python or Golang (payments/commerce focus)
  • Consumer product monetization experience (IAP, subscriptions, virtual economies)
  • A/B testing and data-driven decision making
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communication
  • UI/UX polish and performance optimization
