About this role
CGS is hiring an experienced PostgreSQL Database Developer to lead the migration from Oracle to Azure PostgreSQL while managing and optimizing database environments for a federal data analytics platform. You'll ensure system scalability, performance, and security while collaborating across teams to implement robust data solutions.
What you'll do
- Lead Oracle to PostgreSQL database migration efforts using Ora2Pg tool
- Monitor database systems proactively to maintain availability, performance, and security with minimal downtime
- Create and maintain technical documentation while translating business needs into technical solutions
- Perform database performance tuning and assist developers with optimization
- Manage PostgreSQL backup, disaster recovery, and maintenance processes including patching and upgrades
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define comprehensive technical requirements
