Network Engineer
About this role
CGS seeks an experienced Network Engineer in Charlotte, NC to evaluate, design, and implement large-scale network infrastructure for a government project. The role involves managing wired and wireless networks, conducting security assessments, and collaborating with government personnel and vendors to optimize network systems.
What you'll do
- Operate, manage, and monitor NPS network infrastructure and deployment of network management software
- Design, implement, and document network infrastructure solutions including wireless, wired, and software components
- Administer Cloudpath onboarding processes and troubleshoot wireless network health and security
- Review best practices and provide recommendations for network architecture, design, management, and optimization
- Conduct testing procedures, vulnerability assessments, and quality assurance for new infrastructure projects
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources on network products and best practices

- Network infrastructure design and implementation (wireless and wired)
- CWNA and BCNE certifications or equivalent
- RF site survey tools (Ekahau, RF Scanners, Wireshark)
- Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing protocols (VLANs, OSPF, VRRP)
- Network security (802.1x, MAC Authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, Certificate Authority)
- Linux, MS Server 2013, VMware administration
- Penetration testing and vulnerability assessment
- Technical documentation and communication with diverse stakeholders
