About this role

CGS is hiring an experienced Network Engineer in Boston to evaluate, design, and implement large-scale network infrastructure for a government project. You'll manage wired and wireless networks, conduct security assessments, and collaborate with government agencies and vendors to modernize network systems.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate and redesign existing network infrastructure across wired and wireless systems
  • Manage NPS network operations, monitor health, and administer onboarding and security updates
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and quality assurance for new deployments
  • Develop technical documentation and provide design guidance on network solutions
  • Recommend improvements based on best practices and infrastructure optimization
  • Coordinate with government personnel, stakeholders, and vendors throughout implementation

  • Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing protocols (VLANs, OSPF, VRRP)
  • Network security (802.1x, MAC Authentication, RADIUS, ACLs, PKI)
  • Wireless network troubleshooting and RF site survey tools (Ekahau, Wireshark)
  • Linux, Windows Server 2013, VMware administration
  • CWNA and BCNE certifications required
  • Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing
  • Technical documentation and JIRA/Wiki management
  • Agile/Scrum project management
