Building Commissioning Engineer
About this role
CAI seeks a detail-oriented Commissioning Engineer to oversee the installation, startup, and testing of MEP and control systems on complex capital construction projects in San Diego. You'll ensure all systems meet specifications, safety standards, and design requirements while collaborating with project teams and trade partners throughout the construction lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Execute commissioning processes for MEP and control systems, including inspections, testing, and troubleshooting
- Develop commissioning plans with testing schedules, procedures, and Pre-Functional Checklists
- Conduct functional performance tests to verify system performance against design parameters
- Assist with MEP design reviews and coordinate field activities with technicians and trade partners
- Prepare test reports, commissioning documentation, and project handover packages
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations throughout commissioning
