Experienced Rust Engineer -- Trading Systems
About this role
Blockhouse, a systematic crypto trading firm, seeks an experienced Rust engineer to extend and optimize its production trading engine. You'll own meaningful system components, integrate new exchanges, and mentor junior engineers while working directly with founders and the Head of Trading.
What you'll do
- Extend and optimize the Rust trading engine for performance, reliability, and extensibility
- Integrate new centralized and decentralized exchange venues and harden existing integrations
- Contribute to GCP migration including observability, deployment, and data infrastructure
- Translate strategy requirements from traders and researchers into production systems
- Improve engineering standards through code review, design feedback, and junior engineer mentorship
- Establish and maintain team practices for testing, CI/CD, and on-call operations

- Rust (2–5 years production experience)

- Linux/UNIX environments and debugging/profiling tools
- Networking and system design
- Google Cloud Platform
- Crypto exchange API integration
- Python or TypeScript for tooling
