Electrical Engineer, Hardware Design

Denver, ColoradofulltimemidAdded 1 month ago

About this role

Join Blissway's lean hardware team to design next-generation PCBs for toll collection and highway safety systems deployed across the US. You'll own boards end-to-end from concept through field deployment, collaborating with software and manufacturing teams while driving the company's transition to structured product development.

What you'll do

  • Design and own PCB projects from schematic capture through manufacturing and field deployment
  • Conduct hardware debugging and testing in real-world conditions using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analysis tools
  • Collaborate with software and manufacturing teams to coordinate hardware-software integration without creating gaps
  • Review designs and provide technical feedback to ensure quality and reliability standards
  • Create documentation including test plans, manufacturing procedures, and design review artifacts
  • Support the transition from rapid prototyping to repeatable, structured product development processes

What they're looking for

  • PCB design (schematic capture and layout)
  • End-to-end hardware debugging and testing
  • Communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, CAN)
  • Design for reliability (thermal management, power/signal integrity)
  • Altium or equivalent CAD tools
  • Embedded systems and IoT hardware experience
  • Python, C/C++, or TypeScript
  • Product lifecycle management and manufacturing coordination

Benefits

  • Work on mission-critical infrastructure deployed across the US Interstate Highway System
  • Join a lean team of less than 30 with significant technological advantage in a multi-billion dollar industry
  • Own substantial technical responsibility as a design partner rather than junior contributor
  • Opportunity to shape product development processes at a growth-stage startup

Likely interview questions

  • Walk us through a PCB design you've taken from schematic to manufactured hardware—what were the biggest challenges you faced between design and production?
  • Tell us about a time you had to debug a hardware issue in the field using test equipment like an oscilloscope or logic analyzer. What did you find and how did you fix it?
