Production Engineer
About this role
Base seeks a Production Engineer to optimize manufacturing of distributed battery systems on a swing shift. You'll own assembly processes, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across teams to scale high-quality production while maintaining safety and reliability standards for energy storage products.
What you'll do
- Own and optimize core production processes for battery system assembly
- Identify and eliminate manufacturing bottlenecks using root cause analysis and lean principles
- Develop standardized work instructions, fixtures, and tooling for consistent quality at scale
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using production data and quality feedback
- Partner with design engineering on manufacturability and new product transitions
- Ensure safety and compliance in production, particularly for high-voltage systems

- Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- PFMEA and statistical process control
- PLC programming, MES, ERP systems
- Data analysis (SQL, Python, JMP, or similar)
- Jig/fixture design and automation integration
- High-volume manufacturing or process engineering experience
- Battery, power electronics, or electromechanical assembly knowledge
- Cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving
