EH&S Engineer (Field Operations)
About this role
Base is hiring an EH&S Engineer to support field operations at their distributed battery energy storage facilities in Texas. You'll conduct hazard assessments, investigate incidents, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with site leadership to build a strong safety culture across a rapidly scaling startup.
What you'll do
- Perform hazard assessments, facility inspections, and safety audits to identify and correct potential risks
- Investigate industrial accidents and occupational health incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
- Develop and implement health and safety policies aligned with OSHA, NFPA, and state regulations
- Execute industrial hygiene studies to evaluate manufacturing byproducts and workplace exposure levels
- Design safety solutions using hierarchy of controls (elimination through PPE) within budget and schedule constraints
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste compliance and emergency response protocols
