Deployment Engineer (Field Operations)
About this role
Base is seeking a Deployment Engineer to serve as mission control support for field battery installation crews in Austin, TX. You'll provide real-time technical guidance to electricians during installations and service calls, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and drive operational improvements by identifying trends and updating deployment processes.
What you'll do
- Provide live technical support (~75% of time) to field crews during battery installations and service calls via phone, text, and Slack
- Troubleshoot electrical hardware issues and guide crews through complex technical problems, escalating compliance issues as needed
- Monitor system health using tools like Grafana and Retool to identify and resolve real-time issues
- Identify field issue trends and flag high-impact problems to hardware, software, and deployment teams
- Create and maintain troubleshooting documentation, hardware defect logs, and service tickets in Jira or Odoo
- Collaborate with Member Experience and engineering teams to improve installation speed, safety, and customer satisfaction
