About this role

Bandwidth's R&D team seeks an AI Engineer to research and prototype cutting-edge AI/ML solutions, particularly Large Language Models, for next-generation communications products. You'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in Raleigh, NC, exploring emerging technologies and building proof-of-concepts that shape future offerings.

What you'll do

  • Research latest AI/ML advancements in LLMs and identify applications relevant to communications
  • Design, build, and test AI-powered prototypes and proof-of-concepts
  • Implement and integrate LLM-based models into potential Bandwidth services
  • Experiment with advanced techniques including RAG, prompting strategies, and agentic systems
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within a small R&D team to share knowledge
  • Present research findings and prototype demonstrations to stakeholders
