Database Engineer II
About this role
AXS is seeking a Database Engineer II to design, implement, and optimize scalable database solutions supporting their ticketing platform. You'll work across relational and NoSQL databases while managing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and ensuring high availability for mission-critical systems.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Aurora, and MongoDB
- Integrate database deployments into CI/CD pipelines with automated schema migrations and testing
- Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform and CloudFormation for database provisioning
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging to ensure database performance and security
- Optimize queries, indexes, and execution plans to improve performance and reduce costs
- Manage high availability, replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
What they're looking for
- PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or Aurora (deep expertise in at least one)
- CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Liquibase
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- AWS cloud platform experience
- Database security, encryption, and access control
- Kafka cluster management
- Production troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- DevOps and cloud environment practices
