About this role
Dedrone, an Axon company leading in counter-UAS technology, seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to own the design and development of next-generation airspace defense systems from concept through production. The role combines mechanical design, thermal analysis, prototyping, and system integration in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on public safety innovation.
What you'll do
- Lead product development from conceptualization through manufacturing with focus on durability and reliability
- Conduct detailed mechanical analysis using FEA, tolerance analysis, and testing to ensure proper function
- Build and evaluate high-fidelity proof-of-concept prototypes
- Develop innovative subsystem and system-level architectural concepts through creative problem-solving
- Collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders including product managers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams
- Document and manage design specifications, production processes, and compliance requirements

- CAD software proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360)
- Mechanical design and system integration
