About this role
Axis Automation seeks a Controls Engineer (Level 2/3) to design and implement control systems for custom factory automation equipment. You'll work collaboratively on PLC, HMI, and robotic programming with 10-20% travel to customer sites for installation and support.
What you'll do
- Design electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems for automated work cells
- Develop PLC ladder/structured text, HMI, and robot programs following established standards
- Interpret customer specifications and ensure machinery meets requirements
- Perform troubleshooting, debug, and on-site startup support
- Manage documentation including schematics, I/O maps, and change logs
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors on component sourcing
